Senate Bill Number for Nondiscrimination Relief

RE: Bill Number for the Senate Nondiscrimination Relief Bill

As we promised, here is the number of the Senate nondiscrimination relief bill: S. 622. The bill was formally introduced April 22. Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Senator Kent Conrad (D-ND) were the sponsors. The final list of cosponsors is:

The House version will be introduced soon by Rep. Rob Portman (R-OH) and Rep. Ben Cardin (D-MD). S. 622 and the soon-to-be-introduced House bill are the same as last year's bills, which were S. 2047 and H.R. 4099.

The text of the Hatch/Conrad and Portman/Cardin bills is also in S. 14, the Retirement Security Act of 1997, by Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD) and H.R. 1130, the house companion, by Rep. Sam Gejdenson (D-CT).
